Welcome back to Coaching from My Kitchen. I hope the new year finds you feeling ready to focus on building confidence—the kind of confidence that makes you feel strong and capable from the inside out.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Lila, an experienced leadership and personal coach. This January, I’m sharing a series of short reflections and practical tips to help you grow your confidence. Whether you're looking to strengthen your self-belief at work or in your personal life, I aim to provide you with simple yet impactful tools to support your journey.
Where We’ve Been So Far?
In the first two sessions, we laid some important groundwork:
Session One: We reflected on a time when you felt truly confident. What did that moment look and feel like? What strengths and abilities did you bring to the table?
Session Two: We explored what fuels your confidence—those internal and external factors that give you that extra boost. We also challenged whether you’re prioritising those confidence boosters in your daily life.
Taking the Next Step
Now, it’s time to turn those reflections into action. Today, we’ll focus on how you can identify two or three simple, practical steps to build your confidence. These steps should feel achievable but impactful, acting as your first stepping stone towards becoming a more confident version of yourself.
Let’s Recap and Reflect
To get started, take a moment to revisit your reflections:
Think about your most confident moment. What positive actions stood out to you during that time?
Consider your confidence boosters. Is it preparation, positive feedback, knowledge, or support from others? What are your top two or three? And more importantly, how high are they on your priority list right now?
Here’s the challenge: How can you weave those confidence boosters into your daily life? What small, meaningful actions can you take this week to regain some of that confidence?
Practical Examples to Inspire You
If preparation fuels your confidence, what’s one thing you could prepare for more intentionally this week?
If you thrive on positive feedback, could you ask a trusted colleague or friend for their perspective on something you’ve done well?
If your confidence grows through connection, how could you create opportunities to interact with others—perhaps a catch-up over coffee, a group activity, or even a quick phone call?
If exercise is one of your confidence boosters like me, could you set aside 10 minutes each day for a walk, an online yoga class, or another activity that energises you?
The key here is to focus on small, positive actions that feel achievable. These small steps will create a ripple effect, steadily building your confidence over time.
Final Thoughts
Building confidence is a journey, not a sprint. It’s about making consistent, small steps rather than trying to take a giant leap all at once. So, please take a moment to choose two or three actions from your reflections, write them down, and commit to giving them a go this week.
Looking Ahead
In our next session, we’ll tackle those pesky internal thoughts that often chip away at our confidence. But for now, I encourage you to focus on taking positive steps forward.
I’d love to hear how you’re getting on, so please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or send me a message. I'd be delighted to chat if you’d like to learn more about how coaching could help you build your confidence and self-belief at work or in your personal life.
